Cyprus's airport transport, rebuilt on one platform
How Kapnos Airport Shuttle — one of the island's largest and longest-established passenger transport operators — moved six service lines and every booking channel onto a single eCoachManager platform, then took it live in the field with self-service kiosks and handheld card payments.
A 33-year operator betting on a new decade of firsts
Kapnos Airport Shuttle has moved passengers across Cyprus since 1992. Today it runs a fleet of more than 200 minibuses and coaches, with over 100 daily departures connecting Larnaca and Paphos airports to Nicosia, Limassol, Ayia Napa, Protaras and Paphos — and it was the first passenger transport company in Cyprus to achieve ISO 39001:2012 road-traffic safety accreditation.
In 2025 — its 33rd year — Kapnos set out on what it describes as a "large scale digital transformation initiative that will enable a new decade of firsts in Cyprus." Rather than replace one tool with another, the company wanted a single operational core that could run every service line and every way a customer buys a ticket, from one system.
eCoachManager was chosen as the platform at the centre of that ambition — and the partnership has been delivered in phases, at pace, without ever taking the live business offline.
Operator profile
Six service lines, every channel — and no single system
This was a greenfield transformation: build an operational core from scratch that could handle booking, dispatch, payments, driver management and reporting across every service line — for the first time, on one platform.
Six service lines, no unified platform
Many channels, served at once
Built for the next decade
"A large scale digital transformation initiative that will enable a new decade of firsts in Cyprus." — Kapnos Airport Shuttle, company statement, 2025
One platform, delivered in phases
ECM delivers in phase-gated stages: each phase is fully operational before the next begins, so the Kapnos team is never left managing a half-built system. Value ships continuously rather than in one big-bang release.

Experience & Operations
From go-live to real money at the kerb
A platform only matters when passengers can use it. Through Phase 2, ECM took the system out of the back office and into the terminal and the roadside — and both the self-service kiosk and the mobile POS are now processing live transactions.
The kiosk goes live at Larnaca
The first self-service kiosk was deployed at Larnaca Airport and processed its first real customer transaction — the full journey of booking, payment and ticket printing worked exactly as designed, with no staff intervention.
Passengers choose a destination and date, pick a departure from live availability, tap to pay by contactless card, and collect a printed ticket — all in under a minute, right beside the staffed counter. With the first kiosk proven, Kapnos is now rolling out all four kiosks across its airport and station locations.
Mobile POS in daily use
The mobile POS solution is now actively used by operational staff and has been through extensive live testing. Staff sell tickets and take card or cash payment anywhere — at the bus door, on the platform, wherever the passenger is.
It's performing well in real-world conditions and is supporting day-to-day ticket sales successfully, with every sale flowing straight back into the same operational platform as online, station and kiosk bookings.
Five ways to buy a ticket — one operational core
Website, station, kiosk, driver and mobile POS all feed the same system in real time. Payments run through JCC, Cyprus's leading acquirer, across every channel.
